Investors rely on William Blair Private Wealth Management to activate their capital with purpose and precision. The firm has been a well-respected provider of private wealth management since 1935 and has won several awards from Barron’s and Forbes for best wealth advisors and wealth advisor teams.The Wealth Advisor will identify and establish relationships with high net worth investor prospects. Build an understanding of their short- and long-term financial goals. Convert prospects to clients with assets under supervision. Apply detailed knowledge of William Blair products, services and capabilities in marketing efforts to prospective clients. Recommend and build portfolios based on client investment objectives, integrating Research findings and financial markets knowledge. Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance. Refine investment strategies and portfolio composition to achieve desired returns. Continuously seek opportunities to expand client relationships and grow assets under management. May lead a team of Wealth Advisors and Private Wealth Management investment and client support staff.Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:Identify and establish relationships with high net worth investor prospects. Develop prospect pipeline and regularly conduct calls/meetings with potential clients. Build an understanding of client needs and investment objectives and seek ways to expand relationships.Maintain detailed knowledge of William Blair products, services and capabilities, as well as marketing and research resources. Collaborate across other functions (e.g., PWM Middle Office, Wealth Planning, Research) to identify possible solutions for achieving client investment objectives. Continuously seek opportunities to expand knowledge (e.g., Research luncheons, functional training, conferences).Create business development plans focused on acquiring clients and assets under supervision. Develop targeted clients list, marketing strategies, closing techniques, investment philosophy and performance metrics. Track performance against plan.Develop client relationships and provide exceptional client service to high net worth investors. Monitor clients’ investment objectives on an ongoing basis. Work to expand existing relationships and secure additional assets under supervision. Advise investors on products and investment strategies.Recommend and build appropriate portfolios consistent with client’s objectives. Customize portfolios based on a holistic approach to client objectives, including financial and event planning, flow management, and asset management.Monitor portfolio performance against desired performance returns and refine strategy as needed. Rebalance portfolios based on changes in client investment objectives.Represent William Blair in the financial and local community as a licensed advisor, operating with the highest professional standards.May lead a team of Wealth Advisors and Private Wealth Management investment and client support staff. Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced Wealth Advisors.Ensure all advisory activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.Additional responsibilities as requested.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required5+ years of prior investment sales and portfolio management experience serving high net worth clients requiredSIE Exam, Series 7, and Series 66 (or Series 63 and Series 65) within 150 days of employment (new hires, for US only)CFA or CFP candidate preferredExcellent sales, presentation and communication skillsDemonstrated commitment to satisfying clientsDemonstrated interest in behavioral economicsEntrepreneurial spirit and high level of self-motivationDetailed knowledge of investment concepts, terminology, products, procedures and applicable regulationsHigh quality compliance recordWilliam Blair is an equal opportunity employer.
