This position will serve as mentor and role model to UA-CVM students in the clinical year (third year) of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine professional program. This position will ensure students complete all required components of each rotation as well as evaluate students on submitted materials. The successful candidate will exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and good judgment working in an environment that is very fast-paced and centered around students and a distributive clinical model. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, multi-task, possess a strong customer service orientation, and have strong oral and written communication skills. Successful candidates must have the ability to respond to requests in a timely manner with diplomacy and discretion. click here .Duties & Responsibilities:Mentors approximately 30-35 students per block throughout their clinical year which may include evenings and weekends.Assists in onboarding students for their clinical year.Reviews, evaluates, and provides feedback to clinical year students on assessments which may include learning agreements, medical records, clinical skills assessments, and other clinical portfolio requirements.Responds to and documents feedback regarding course, student, and on-site veterinarian concerns. Continuously work to improve the clinical year experience.Is familiar with Arizona CVM curriculum, Council on Education (COE) requirements, and audits clinical site facilities to ensure accreditation standards are met.Informs students of ancillary resources – resources, books, websites, etc.Provides feedback to the Associate Dean for Clinical Relations regarding the student learning experience and clinical sites.Engages in the CVM collegial community, the university community, and the larger global academic community through participation in shared governance, advisory committees, and academic/professional society meetings.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:DVM/VMD degree (or international equivalent) from an AVMA accredited college or school.At least three years of clinical experience.Preferred Qualifications:Ten years of clinical experience.Prior experience in teaching and learning or the mentoring of veterinary students.Clinical experience with a broad range of animal species.Experience with technology including but not limited to MS Office, Learning Management Systems, and data management.Experience creating a positive and engaging work environment with a focus on customer service.Experience with efficient communication, time management, and problem-solving.Rank:
