The Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington Department of Pediatrics invites interested applicants for the position of Solid Tumor Clinician. The Cancer & Blood Disorders Center provides a rich and collaborative environment for basic, clinical, and translational research and boasts a diverse faculty. The Hematology Program is an integral component of the Cancer & Blood Disorders Center. Ideal candidates will provide clinical expertise caring for pediatric hematology patients. Close affiliations with research investigators within the Seattle Children’s Research Institute, the Fred Hutch Cancer Center, and the University of Washington are essential.This position will devote some effort to clinical responsibilities in the Cancer & Blood Disorders Center at Seattle Children’s Hospital.Provide exemplary clinical service and assure that patients receive the highest quality care.In collaboration with program leaders, contribute to and expand the clinical program and patient services in Hem/Onc.Play a role in the education and training program of the pediatric Hem/Onc/BMT Division, including access to and involvement with medical students, residents, fellows, and occasionally physicians in practice.This time may include both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, including call, adjusted depending on service needs.All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors MD $11,882 - $17,823 per month ($142,584 - $213,876 annually), Associate Professors MD $14,976 - $22,464 per month ($179,712 - $269,568 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations.Other compensation may include incentives through the CUMG practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).Salary and rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor at the University of Washington will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments. The primary focus of this position will be an emphasis on clinical service and administrative duties.Assistant Professors
are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period, meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.Associate Professors
hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period, meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.Anticipated start date Winter 2024.Qualifications
Successful candidates will have:MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent).Must be Board Eligible or Certified in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.Must be currently licensed as a physician or eligible for licensure as a physician in the State of Washington.In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.Application Instructions
