The Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington Department of Pediatrics invites interested applicants for the position of a full-time Clinical Hematologist at 1.0 FTE on the clinician scholar track. The Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Seattle Children’s Hospital provides a collaborative environment for basic, clinical, and translational research and boasts a diverse team, including 63 faculty members, 9 fellows as well as over 30 advanced practice providers. This position will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, caring for pediatric hematology patients and working within a highly collaborative team. Anticipated start date is Fall/Winter 2024.This position will devote a majority of effort to clinical responsibilities in the Cancer & Blood Disorders Center at Seattle Children’s Hospital.Provide exemplary clinical service and assure that patients cared for receive only the highest quality care.Contribute to and expand the clinical program and patient services in general and consultative hematology, in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors MD $11,882 - $17,823 per month ($142,584 - $213,876 annually), Associate Professors MD $14,976 - $22,464 per month ($179,712 - $269,568 annually), Professors MD $18,809 - $28,213 per month ($225,708 - $338,556 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in university benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children’s University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).Salary and rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor (without tenure by reason of funding) will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.Qualifications
Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, or DO degrees (or foreign equivalent) and be board eligible or certified in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.Applicants must also be currently licensed as a physician or eligible for licensure as a physician in the State of Washington.In order to be eligible for university sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.Application Instructions
