Revolution Workshop is a social enterprise that provides carpentry and woodworking workforce development for unemployed or underemployed people in partnership with area businesses.We deliver financial independence and careers through skills, hope, and resilience.

Revolution Workshop is looking for a Director of Finance to oversee the financial management of the organization, ensuring transparency, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role involves developing financial strategies, managing budgets, and providing insights to support the mission and goals of Revolution Workshop.

Direct Reports

This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

This position supervises one Finance Coordinator

Roles and Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting

Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial results to ED and other members of the leadership team as appropriate.

Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.

Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the ED; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.

Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.

Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; responsible for the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.

Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the board of directors.

Oversee the accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings.

Grant Funding

Submit all monthly, quarterly, and annual fiscal reports to funders.

Manages fiscal responsibilities of all grants to ensure contract compliance, reports, budget submission, and budget modifications.

Establishes and maintains relationships with fiscal point of contact for each funder

Respond to inquiries from grantors

Organizational Leadership

Participate in the strategic vision and planning of organizational growth

Collaborate with departmental leads to develop annual budgets

Work with board and committee members to keep them updated on organizational financial health

Work Environment:

This position is performed in a typical office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree; Bachelor’s in accounting or CPA preferred

At least five years experience in accounting and finance

At least three years of supervisory experience

Nonprofit finance experience preferred

Excellent computer skills – Google G Suit (google docs, sheets, forms, gmail etc.), Microsoft Office, Excel, ability to learn new systems and databases

Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

Detail-oriented

Takes initiative, able to anticipate program needs

Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills

Recognize and respond to emerging priorities, allow for flexibility in your schedule
