The AGMRE is a direct report to the GM and has the principal responsibility for leading, managing, and coordinating the Contractor's performance for all railroad rolling stock including locomotives, cab cars, trailer cars, and a small fleet of MOW support cars – ballast, air dumps, flats. This position oversees Rail Rolling Stock rehabilitation, capital and third-party programs, and support services.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Yes.Duties/Responsibilities:
Work closely and collaboratively with other Contractor AGM’s, particularly the AGM Procurement/Inventory, AGM Rail Infrastructure, and AGM Information Technology Systems.Develop the annual scope and budget(s) for maintenance and support services.Oversee directives for signals, active warning devices, communication systems, and wayside train control systems.Ensure maintenance work is performed during off-peak commuter traffic periods.Inspect, repair, and maintain the fleet of equipment according to Contract requirements with the highest degree of safety.Support the effort to provide Work Directive Proposals for rolling stock modifications.Collaborate with AGM Information Technology and AGM Procurement/Inventory to achieve an efficient, streamlined, digital paperless working environment.Manage budgets and deliver superior service under budgetary constraints.Other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong written and oral communication skills.Excellent management and leadership skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.Knowledgeable in applying new technology to improve efficiency and safety.Proven management experience in subcontract, supplier, and vendor contracts.Ability to develop and establish programs for passenger safety and training.Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or related field—or equivalent experience. 15 years of progressively responsible experience in Passenger, Commuter Railroad or Class 1 Railroad Operations.Physical Requirements:
Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.Other:
Must have a valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record.Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination including a drug test.Salary Range:
