What You’ll Do:
Lead and manage new packaging innovation for the company across all three-business axis (makeup, skincare & services).Balance creativity, technicality, and execution in order to deliver on high performing, easy to use products that solve beauty dilemmas, fuel the company’s long-term plan, and business goals.Accountable for shaping and delivering on the strategy for innovative packaging concepts and the development of high-performing, custom applicators in key long-term plan segments across Makeup, Skincare and Service categories.Responsible for the expansion of performance innovation, packaging innovation and product integration across all key categories of business.Utilize deep cosmetic and packaging engineering expertise to serve as a key liaison between component suppliers and the company’s Global Innovation team.Manage the development or re-development and engineering of quality for primary and secondary packaging in a cost-effective manner from concept to production while meeting the product development calendar/deadlines and industrial/technical challenges.Responsible for leading a team of packaging engineers and other packaging professionals, in addition to managing relationships with suppliers. (Work from home is permitted within a commutable distance to the San Francisco, CA worksite subject to manager approval.)Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as a Marketing Manager, Product Developer, or in a related occupation in packaging development in the cosmetics/beauty industry.In the alternative, the employer will accept seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as a Marketing Manager, Product Developer, or in a related occupation in packaging development in the cosmetics/beauty industry.Experience must include:Production, manufacturing, product integrity and production cycle timelinesManaging multiple suppliersDesigning and integrating applicators with adequate formulas and componentsIntegration of cosmetic formulation and the cosmetic applicator to create specific cosmetics outcomes, including performance contributions of applicator as it relates to shape, material, hardness and shore levelsManipulation of coefficient of friction relating to good displacement of formula for a variety of beauty products (such as brow, lash, liner, lip, and face color products)Knowledge of component printing and graphic artsSchedule:
Hybrid - requires onsite presence weeklyThis position is based out of our Global Headquarters corporate office in San Francisco, CA.Requires 30% international and domestic travel to various and unanticipated internal and external sites.The target salary range for this position is $160,000 - $190,000 annually. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. This position is eligible to earn an annual bonus.
