Project Architect Summary:
Under the supervision of a managing Senior Architect or Principal, you will be responsible for the day-to-day design and development of residential architectural projects from conception to completion. Job Duties:
Manage the day-to-day design and development of construction documents and specifications including forecasting and organizing project design development and production delivery. Collaborate with project consultants to integrate their systems into the architectural design. Lead project meetings with clients, contractors, and consultants. Further develop detailed architectural drawings. Present prepared documentation at public hearings. Delegate tasks and manage workload distribution among project team members. Manage client expectations and concerns regarding design, budget, and deliverables on a timely basis. Finalize for approval all material selections and product specifications. Perform construction administration tasks including attending and documenting site visits. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
In-depth knowledge and understanding of architectural design principles, spatial relationships, aesthetics, and functional requirements for various building types. Knowledge and experience with local, national building codes, zoning regulations, and standards related to residential architecture and construction to ensure compliance with designs. Thorough understanding of construction techniques, structural systems, and building assembly methods. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify design challenges and evaluate alternatives that balance aesthetics, functional and technical requirements. Effective project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Well-established, collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, and colleagues. Provides technical guidance to less experienced architects and designers. Education and Experience:
Bachelors or Masters degree in architecture required from NAAB accredited program. If not yet registered, on track to be a registered Architect required. Minimum 5 years related professional experience. Proficiency in architectural design software: AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite. Proficiency with productivity software: Microsoft Office and Bluebeam. Proficiency with management software: Monograph and Procore, preferred.
