Position Overview:
The Director of Philanthropy Data Systems and Analytics manages the information services support areas, overseeing gift processing, data entry, reporting and optimizing usage of the development database system. The position will report to the Vice President for Office of Institutional Advancement Operations.
The Director is also well-versed in Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge and NXT systems. This role will oversee the strategic integration of Salesforce CRM and Blackbaud platforms into our enterprise systems, optimizing these powerful tools to enhance business operations and data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will lead the adoption, customization, and technical integration efforts, ensuring seamless functionality across our CRM landscape.
Essential Functions:
Lead the strategic integration of Salesforce CRM and Blackbaud systems (Raiser’s Edge NXT) into the enterprise’s technological framework.
Manage the technical aspects of Salesforce and Blackbaud implementations, including system migrations, software integrations, and custom application developments.
Oversee a team of CRM professionals in customizing and optimizing the Salesforce and Blackbaud environments.
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to execute integration projects.
Develop and enforce best practices in data integration, system configuration, and security.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the integrated systems.
Foster strong vendor relationships with Salesforce and Blackbaud.
Provide leadership on the effective use of CRM features and data analytics tools.
Process, reconcile, and transmit donations and pledges accurately and timely.
Plan and execute the full implementation of the current development database system.
Work with program officers to identify their information needs.
Establish strategies for the maintenance and development of information systems.
Develop an annual plan for the Information Services area.
Develop and implement user training classes.
Work with the institution’s IT staff to ensure compliance with industry practices.
Supervise staff in providing systems and user support.
Maintain an active database and relationship with the software system vendor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Extensive experience (5-7 years) in managing integrations of Salesforce and Blackbaud platforms.
Proven ability to oversee large-scale IT projects.
Deep understanding of Salesforce and Blackbaud architecture.
Strong leadership skills.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Relevant Salesforce certifications.
Extensive knowledge of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge and NXT.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to act independently in the absence of the Vice President.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master in Data Management and/or Data Analytics.
SME in database management capacity.
A fundraising background.
Knowledge of IRS requirements in posting and acknowledging gifts.
