This Boston-based role is a great opportunity for an individual contributor having expertise within the Google Cloud Platform advanced data and analytics services, balanced with business skills to support US-based research and clinical functions. Stakeholders include data scientists, statisticians, and other data consumers. The goal of this position will be to build, manage, and optimize data processes in Servier’s Data Platform that is built on GCP to accelerate business decisions. The GCP Data Engineer reports directly to the Associate Director of Data & Analytics, while working closely with a local IT business partner and the French-based Global Servier Digital Data and Information Systems (DDIS) Data Factory Team.Primary ResponsibilitiesSolution Delivery
Lead small-to-mid-size projects to scope, design and implement for US-based needs, in collaboration with the global Data Platform team.Business Analysis: Gathering local requirements and documenting to facilitate implementation of requested changes or propose new solutions.Technical: Leverage hands-on technical skills to translate requirements to solutions on a technical stack that includes Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, vertexAI, Python, nextflow, Posit RStudio, Terraform, Argo, docker, GitHub, SASYou will be involved in all technical aspects of the product team work, including code practices, data sourcing, feature engineering, solution design, PR/MR review, etc.
Data Platform Operations
Identify and facilitate local issues with the global team, in order to provide the most appropriate answersMaintain the data ecosystem in an optimal operational state following established standard and processes, with mindset of continuous improvementEnsure security, privacy, and compliance of data and processes in a highly regulated environment (eg. clinical and patient data)
Work collaboratively and influentially in a cross-functional global environmentKeep current with and leverage latest data technologies and concepts, and contribute to stakeholder roadmap.Education and Required SkillsRequired:Must have 5+ years experience, with 3+ years experience in cloud data platforms and advanced analyticsMust have proven experience with Google Cloud Data PlatformStrong listening and communication skills, ability to work in global environmentSolution-oriented critical-thinker, agile mindsetPreferred:Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Math or related disciplinePreference for cloud certifications, especially Google Cloud CertificationsPreference for Pharmaceutical industry experiencePreference for technical experience with some of the following: Sql, R, Python, SAS programming, Linux, KubernetesTravel and LocationLocated in Boston area, reporting to Seaport office 2-3 days per weekServier’s CommitmentServier is committed to modeling diversity, equity, and inclusion within the industry.
