Advanced Resource Technologies, Inc. (ARTI) is currently recruiting for a
CISS Security Specialist
in support of a contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The position is full-time, exempt. Start date is immediate, based on award of DHS Suitability/Entry on Duty (EOD).SUMMARYWorking in the Threat Management Operations (TMO) is comprised of the Internal Security Division (ISD), Insider Threat Division (ITP), and the Center for International Safety and Security (CISS). The ISD conducts complex investigations for the protection of classified information and potential violations of law. ISD’s Cyber Forensics Lab provides OCSO the capability to conduct investigations of electronic media. The Insider Threat Division includes the Insider Threat Operations Center (ITOC) that serves as the front-line defense against internal threats to classified networks. The CISS is responsible for executing the DHS’s Foreign Access Management mission and screens, tracks, correlates, and analyzes official foreign access to the U.S. Government. CISS includes the Technical Surveillance Countermeasures function with the capability to detect surveillance devices within DHS and other locations.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop strategies and processes to address foreign visits, foreign contacts, foreign travel, the foreign release of information, foreign access affected operations, information technology network activities, protection of critical programs, and foreign-related security incidents to identify potential patterns and anomalies.Make security risk assessments and risk management/mitigation strategies/recommendations based on intelligence-derived threat issues requiring deviations from or synthesis of policies having national and homeland implications.Collect, assemble, analyze, and assess background data and other intelligence information.Provide direct support, and functions as a liaison for security-related issues between the CISS, and various other federal government entities.Represent the CISS on DHS working groups, steering groups, or other meetings, conferences, and seminars.CONUS travel may be required.REQUIREMENTSUndergraduate degree with 10 years specialized experience in one of the following areas: counterintelligence, investigations, industrial security, dignitary/VIP policy and security standard development, OPSEC, COMSEC, INFOSEC, security countermeasures programs, access systems operation and management, personnel protection and protecting classified information, or region desk officer. With 14 years of specialized experience a degree is not required.Knowledge of NISPOM and national and international security requirements.Understanding of and experience-based familiarity with the U.S. Federal Government and DoD agencies and their security practices.Knowledge of the methods and techniques of safeguarding classified and sensitive unclassified information and issues guidance and assistance in the evaluation and analysis of security needs to advise top-level DHS officials and subject matter managers on developments and advances in the various security programs.Knowledge of information security protections regarding classified information and other laws and national-level directives associated with the safeguarding of classified national security information and a thorough understanding of how information gathering, and protection programs are administered.Mandatory Requirement:
Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information, Top Secret-SCI.
