UIC has over 300,000 alumni and is one of the largest employers in the city of Chicago.Description:Position SummaryThe College of Dentistry's Resilience Center (RC) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) teams are seeking a program assistant (graduate hourly) for the development and oversight of college-wide programming and initiatives. The program assistant will work on a team alongside the Associate Director of DEIB and the Acting Director of the Resilience Center to create and organize events and programs, as well as marketing and communication initiatives. Additionally, the program assistant will assist with programming and planning of other RC and DEIB initiatives within the UIC College of Dentistry.Duties & Responsibilities:Coordinate and communicate with the Acting Director of the Resilience Center and Associate Director of DEIB, along with other members of the team.Assist in coordinating meetings, as well as planning and oversight of programs and events for the college community.Assist with creation, development and implementation of communication/marketing strategies for department initiatives.Other related activities as assigned.Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Enrolled graduate student at UIC.Bachelor’s degree and/or currently enrollment in a graduate social or health science/professional program. Background in public health or social work is preferred.Interest and prior experience with program development and implementation.Knowledge of social and behavioral theories/models, as well as health equity and justice.Preferred Qualifications:Skill in oral and written communication.Ability to coordinate people and resources.Knowledge of MS Office applications required.Superior skills in planning, organizing, and time management.Knowledge of advancements in technology and marketing software and platforms.Ability to work effectively with staff, faculty, and students.The University of Illinois System is an equal opportunity employer, including but not limited to disability and/or veteran status, and complies with all applicable state and federal employment mandates.
