This role requires strong leadership experience, as the Medical Director supports the C-suite and manages a team of at least 10 staff members. The position involves a balance between administrative duties (60%) and clinical care (40%), with 3 days dedicated to administrative tasks. Key responsibilities include overseeing medical practice, ensuring proper staffing, leading performance appraisals, and supervising the quality of care provided by the interdisciplinary team. The Medical Director plays a crucial role in developing policies, improving care outcomes, and managing quality assurance programs. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with other medical organizations, serving on committees, and supporting new provider recruitment and onboarding. This position also involves understanding population health, managed care principles, and leading clinical design initiatives. The Medical Director must be data-driven, skilled in quality improvement methods, and able to implement programs that improve care for high-risk patients.
