Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This role will be based in Sykesville, MD and may work a hybrid schedule. This position can be filled as either a Principal/3 or Sr Principal/4 Supplier Quality Engineer.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management.
Develop and implement supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
Assure supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
Interface directly with supplier personnel and assess supplier quality and manufacturing processes.
Conduct product and process verification activities, monitor supplier quality performance, and drive root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
Support the maintenance of the approved supplier list and review supplier performance.
Manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and discrepancy reporting process.
Keep management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks.
Coordinate and oversee Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.
Engage in supplier evaluation, qualification, and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP).
Manage implementation of Supplier Quality processes including supplier approval activities and risk assessments.
Provide support and mentorship for junior supplier quality engineers.
Lead and drive ownership with cross-functional teams to ensure all incoming products are non-conforming and on time.
Develop and execute process risk audits and quality management audits.
Develop and provide proactive supplier management plans.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
US Citizenship required.
Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements.
Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action.
Experience in leading teams and projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable STEM field.
CAM/EV Experience.
Strong manufacturing background in various roles.
Strong quality background, particularly in supplier quality.
Experience in performing supplier audits.
Demonstrated knowledge of quality tools including PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, FAI.
Engineering experience in PWB/PCB fabrication.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 4:
Bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
US Citizenship required.
Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements.
Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action.
Experience in leading teams and projects.
Salary Range:
$93,000 - $139,600
Salary Range 2:
$115,400 - $173,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
