Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is currently seeking a Manager Supplier Quality 2 responsible for supporting procured materials from external suppliers for BWI campus programs. This position is part of Global Supply Chain (GSC) Organization, closely aligned with AMS division, and will reside onsite at Linthicum, MD, leading the Factory Supplier Performance Team.

The Supplier Performance Management leader will act as the liaison for Factory cells for all supplier performance concerns at the shop floor with the goal to mitigate the impact of non-conforming vendor materials.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Containment/Tactical

Validate non-conformance

Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.

Assess supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.

Conduct product and process verification activities.

Monitor supplier quality performance and drive root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.

Communication

Communicate to the Manufacturing Cells and Cell Operations leadership of non-conformances and recovery plans.

Communicate with internal or external business units/suppliers/stakeholders in solving supplier deficiencies or building consensus for efficient path forward.

Strategic

Analyze non-conformance data to identify areas for improvement.

Target improvement initiatives for problematic materials through suppliers/technologies/resources.

Foster working relationships with Manufacturing leadership for close integration and support.

Drive and implement industry practices and strategies to predict where Supplier Quality functions and work products will evolve.

Supervisory

Responsible for daily operations of a team or work unit (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day to day workflow, and operating costs).

This is an onsite position at Linthicum, MD.

Basic Qualifications:

BS degree in STEM or related field and 9 years of relevant experience; OR MS Degree and 7 years of relevant experience.

3 years of industry experience in Manufacturing process/Production Engineering or Operations Programs Management in factory environment.

2 years of working knowledge of Inventory Material process flow (supply chain management, receiving) or manufacturing/production material process flow (production control, or product test & evaluation, or product sell off).

2 or more years of experience managing and/or leading teams.

Experience with Quality Management Systems (such as: AS9100, or Aerospace industry standards) or related Certifications.

Experience with Root Cause and corrective action using industry Problem-Solving tools such as but not limited to Cause-and-Effect diagram, P/FMEA, etc.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Government Security Clearance (US citizenship).

Preferred Qualifications:

Exceptional communication and presentation skills that demonstrate an ability to comprehend and explain objectives, initiatives, build consensus among broad range of internal or external stakeholders.

Experience in the oversight and management of suppliers/vendors, supplier evaluations and supplier metrics reporting.

Familiarity with SAP inventory/quality transactions.

Basic understanding of engineering drawings and associated requirements.

Aerospace Industry experience as a Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering or Manufacturing Manager.

Secret Clearance.

Salary Range:

$131,800 - $197,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
