Position Summary
Participates in the analysis, design and evaluation of enterprise-wide systems to meet business requirements and possesses thorough understanding of up and down stream applications including middleware.
What will your job entail?
Responsibilities:
Serve as a developer to design, customize, implement, and support solutions for various platforms within the organization.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and be able to learn and retain a vast amount of information very quickly.
Ability to review and rationally analyze requirements and propose solutions in a timely manner.
Create and maintain application documentation as required for specified work assignments.
Work with an offshore team of developers primarily based in India.
Help to guide and instruct junior developers with regular knowledge transfer and code review sessions.
Maintain familiarity with new development tools and techniques for systems analysis, design, and development.
Work with support and other IT teams to resolve issues as they occur.
Support system integration, testing, releases, and maintenance.
Supports and follows all identified IT processes.
Required Skills:
Senior-level analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of general ledger accounting platforms and concepts.
Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Skilled in developing Microsoft SQL Server solutions, including the ability to write and troubleshoot T-SQL. (Design and maintain: tables, views, indexes, constraints, stored procedures, functions and triggers)
Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Experience with programming in scripting languages. (VBScript, PowerShell, JavaScript, Python)
Experience with Agile methodologies and SCRUM project management concepts.
Experience with Gitlab Source Control and RedGate SQL Toolbelt preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Reporting Services and PowerBI preferred.
Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) preferred.
Experience with Crystal Reports (Desktop) preferred.
Experience with SAP SQLAnywhere preferred.
Experience with Retool application development preferred.
Work Experience:
5+ years professional developer experience.
5+ years Microsoft SQL Server experience.
Familiarity with General Accounting Practices.
Familiarity with Vertafore (AIM/ImageRight) or Insurity (ConceptOne) products or other insurance management software preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
