Starting Rate of pay:

$115,200.00 Pay is to commensurate with experience

Position SummaryThe General Manager is responsible for daily operations of the casino in all aspects of maximizing profit and return on investment, including but not limited to: cost management, inventory management, maintenance, business development, marketing, promotions, and training, supervision, and employee relations. The General Manager's main responsibility is to ensure that Casino services and operations are conducted in a manner that exemplifies core values, meets established financial goals, and maintains compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.

Essential Functions of the Position

Responsible for overseeing the operations of the business with an organized and professional approach while demonstrating a high level of ethics and accountability.

Establish a budget for revenues and expenses and operate within those guidelines.

Set operational goals, budgets and business plans, and monitor achievement of performance and profit objectives.

Develop strategies and lead initiatives to continuously improve guest service and customer service scores.

Create initiatives to improve the employee experience and morale.

Set performance expectations and provide coaching, career development planning and operational support for all departments.

Establish procedures to uphold strict adherence to State/Federal/Tribal regulations, and internal controls related to departmental policy and procedures.

Support department managers to ensure staff is scheduled properly and aligned with business volumes.

Work with the Absentee Shawnee Tribe, the Absentee Shawnee Gaming Commission and all other departments to aid in the protection of assets and maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of casino.

Develop a strong working relationship with all department managers to ensure unity and consistent direction.

Consistently demonstrate legendary leadership, influence, drive, and innovation.

Establish and endorse the business objectives, ethics and values of the Company and the Absentee Shawnee Tribe.

Enforce company policies and procedures as a member of management.

Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Knowledge and experience with budget preparation and analyzing a variety of financial reports.

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; skill in working in an environment subject to constant interruptions and quickly changing priorities; ability to prioritize and delegate responsibilities when necessary; effective time-management skills.

Knowledge of the operation of a variety of computer software, including word processing, database, spreadsheet and graphic applications.

Knowledge of Thunderbird Casino programs, activities, and events.

Knowledge of general management principles and practices.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, Board members, and the public, both in person and through phone, email and written correspondence.

Ability to learn quickly, self-leader with initiative, highly flexible and comfortable in a constantly changing environment.

Ability to train, instruct and supervise a variety of employees at all levels.

Knowledge of the policies and procedures of Thunderbird Casino.

Skill in researching, developing and preparing or outsourcing business activities.

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirect supervisory responsibility for all Thunderbird Entertainment Center, Inc. employees.

Physical Demands

Required to walk, sit and stand for periods of time.

Ability to push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and move intermittently throughout the day.

Work Environment

Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.

Exposure to smoke and second-hand smoke.

Noise level can be minimal to intense.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management is required.

7-10 years of prior gaming experience is required.

7-10 years of management experience is required.

Proven leadership experience within a casino required.

Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check and obtain a key gaming license.
