Verus is in search of an
Accounting Specialist
to join our office in Seattle. Candidates should have at least two years of accounting experience.
The Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for the day-to-day processing functions of the Accounting Department. Duties include supporting accounts payable, expense reimbursements, accounts receivable and month end close.
Accounts Payable:
Process weekly check runs
Verify and prepare invoices
Enter and post into Great Plains (“GP”) accounting software
Mail and file payments
Maintain vendor cards in GP
Manage company credit card
Remit monthly payments
Compile statement receipts
Enter and post transactions to GP
Support future transition to cloud-based software
Expense Reimbursements:
Create and submit expense reports for senior staff
Review and approve expense reports in Paycom & Expensify
Enter and post all expenses in GP
Prepare monthly journal entries for GP
Compile client billable expenses
Accounts Receivable:
Maintain cash receipts
Apply and post check and EFT/wire payments in GP
Maintain invoice filing to SharePoint
Month End:
Bank reconciliations
General ledger account reconciliations
Prerequisites:
Bachelor’s Degree required, or;
Two years or more of accounting/office experience preferred, or:
Equivalent combination of degree and experience with thorough knowledge of general accounting and application of general accounting theory

Salary:
$80,000 - $95,000 annual
Salary offered to candidates is determined by factoring in market pay, internal peer equity, education, credentials, relevant skills and expertise, past employment experience, and geographic pay differentials.
