SENIOR DIVISION MANAGER (ICC)

PURPOSE OF DIVISION:
The Operations Division is responsible for the Airport Operations Centers (AOC), Airside and Landside operations, Security, Airport badging offices, Safety, and Emergency Management at George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby Airport. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Establish policies, procedures, and guidelines for the ICC facility and staff.Identify trends and forecast operational impacts to airport safety, efficiency, and compliance.Provide leadership and decision-making to the ICC staff during daily operations, irregular operations, and emergencies.Interface with federal, state, and local authorities to maintain security compliance.Coordinate initial activation of Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in response to emergency events.Issue notifications to management, stakeholders, and the traveling public regarding airport status and incident updates.Monitor and support special events.Lead shift-briefings at the start of each shift for airport incidents, upcoming activities, and other information with potential operational impacts or requiring awareness.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, or a field related to activities of the division.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Eight years of progressive professional experience related to the activities of the division are required, with at least three of the years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a field related to the activities of the division may be substituted for two years of non-supervisory experience. Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:Requires a valid Class C Texas driver’s license and compliance with the City of Houston’s policy on driving (AP 2-2). Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances for working at an airport.
