The Sr. Systems Engineer will provide expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining systems in a complex working environment. A thorough understanding of Cloud, Storage, Linux, Windows, and Virtualization technologies and SAP environments running in the cloud is essential. Support critical services and systems in a large production environment. Epson is a fast-paced quick response environment with project implementation and business support.This position can be remote or you can work a hybrid schedule out of Epson America's headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA.What you will be doing:
Evaluates current systems environments, conducts research, recommends, and implements innovative systems technology that can enhance the reliability, security, productivity, and agility of the Epson Infrastructure and associated enterprise systems.Accountable for the measurement, tracking and improvement of Service Levels for all aspects of operations to include day-to-day administration, operations, and execution of the annual disaster recovery plan.Perform ongoing performance tuning, resource optimization, configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required in collaboration with Basis and applications teams.Install new and rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.Designs, implements, configures, and manages supported technologies, products, and services.Monitors and proactively manages supported products and services to assure their performance, availability, security, and capacity.Diagnoses, isolates, and resolves problems with supported technologies, products, and services. Identifies and performs documented root cause analysis.Researches, analyzes, and formulates recommendations regarding technologies, products, and solutions to fulfill requirements within the enterprise.Communicates with software and hardware vendors, technical support, and engineering.Analyzes and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and work effort needed to design and implement moderately complex technical solutions.Participate and manage key infrastructure projects as an individual, with the team members of the department, and with Epson’s business groups.Provides coaching and guidance to junior engineers.Proven ability to perform day to day activities including, but not limited to supporting the Epson infrastructure by resolving trouble tickets and handling server infrastructure requests based upon the needs of the business.The candidate will show an aptitude to not only resolve issues, but also take a proactive approach to implementing long term solutions.What you will bring:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in architecture, support, and administration of computing systems environment, server environment and databases.Expert with cloud-based services and infrastructure (AWS and Azure).Architecting solutions for simplicity, massive scale, resiliency, and maintainability.Automating deployment, configuration, and operations (Ansible and Terraform preferred).Experience with scripting (Python, Bash or PowerShell).Experience with VMware.Experience with Enterprise Monitoring (SolarWinds preferred).Experience with Veeam preferred.Nice to Have Skills:
