The marketing and communication manager is responsible for creating, directing, and overseeing campus marketing and communication content and strategies and evaluating the effectiveness of such content and strategies. A significant aspect of this work will specifically involve writing for all marketing and communication content as well as creating, managing, coordinating, and supervising campus marketing, recruitment initiatives, advertising, publications, web design, and the department budget. Experience in writing is crucial, and exposure to graphic design is necessary for the incumbent to be able to supervise the creation of communication and marketing materials and campaigns.Salary: $70,644.00Classification Information

An incumbent is primarily responsible for creating, directing, and overseeing campus communication and marketing content and strategies. The incumbent also manages the daily operations of the campus marketing department. In addition, the incumbent is required to utilize graphic design and writing skills needed to create marketing materials to promote and enhance events.Principal Accountabilities
An incumbent may perform any combination of the below listed accountabilities:Conceptualizes, creates, coordinates, produces, and manages comprehensive marketing initiatives for all campus divisions in conjunction with the campus vice president, director of communication and planning, administrators, faculty, and staff, and ensures compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.Manages the daily operations of the campus marketing department, including supervision of staff and prioritization and completion of projects. Creates and supervises the creation of communication and marketing materials and campaigns. Develops and manages the department budget and provides final purchasing and payment approval for all department expenditures. In collaboration with the director of communication and planning, develops, implements, and analyzes campus-specific objectives that support the collegewide goals, objectives, and intended outcomes as part of the College’s planning and assessment process.Identifies campus recruitment, marketing, and promotional needs and researches, plans, develops, and implements appropriate strategic directions that are consistent with the College brand identity. Collaborates with staff to develop copy for publications, advertisements, and other marketing media and then designs large projects or supervises the design of other projects by graphic designers.Collaborates with the collegewide strategic communication director and serves as the primary and constituent contact spokesperson and manages media coverage for the campus, including coordinating and facilitating campus public relations events, press conferences, and media/community relations.Identifies appropriate target markets for recruitment. Plans, coordinates, and administers campus advertising to reach those markets through television, print, publications, digital advertising, and radio.Manages communication and marketing support of campus special events and off-campus recruitment initiatives through advertising, promotional items, displays, and collateral material.Serves on campus and collegewide committees including Campus Budget Committee and major campus special event planning committees as assigned.Coordinates photography for campus events and activities to use in marketing and communication initiatives.Conceptualizes, designs, and coordinates the development and production of various communication and marketing materials, e.g., multimedia presentations, brochures, signs, ads, flyers, logos, posters, etc. as needed.Collaborates with the collegewide external affairs division to manage campus-specific social media content on College platforms, which may include creating editorial content and selecting appropriate photos for posts and galleries.Interviews and drafts stories and profiles on behalf of the campus, including alumni, students, faculty, and staff for use on the website, viewbook, magazine, e-newsletter, and other publications.Trains, supervises, and evaluates subordinate personnel.Performs other related duties as required.Knowledge Skills and Abilities
