Wireless Networking Lead

Glocomms is partnered with a global leader in commercial data analytics, looking to bring on an SME in wireless networking to lead a new team focused on the wireless infrastructure behind the firms 70+ office spaces.The Wireless Networking Lead will be a key driver in advancing the company's wireless infrastructure, blending hands-on technical expertise with strategic foresight. This role demands extensive knowledge of Aruba technologies and related networking solutions, as well as familiarity with modern wireless standards and protocols. The ideal candidate will excel in both technical execution and architectural planning, ensuring that our wireless networks meet the demands of a data-driven environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of Aruba wireless solutions, including Aruba Instant Access Points and Aruba ClearPass, to deliver high-performance, secure connectivity across all locations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and develop the long-term wireless architecture, incorporating technologies such as SD-WAN, IoT integration, and cloud-based management solutions.Conduct thorough evaluations of existing wireless and wired systems, utilizing tools like Spectrum Analysis and RF Site Surveys to identify enhancements that improve connectivity and user experience.Resolve complex networking issues, leveraging tools such as Wireshark for packet analysis and Aruba AirWave for network monitoring and management.Provide guidance and training to junior team members on best practices in wireless networking, Aruba technologies, and emerging trends like 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) and mesh networking solutions.Stay current with advancements in wireless technologies, security protocols, and industry best practices to inform and refine the company's networking strategy.Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and architectural decisions to ensure effective knowledge transfer and adherence to compliance standards.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Extensive experience in wireless networking, particularly with Aruba products, including but not limited to Aruba Central, AirWave, and ClearPass.Proven track record in designing and implementing scalable wireless and wired networks in a corporate environment, with a strong understanding of VLANs, QoS, and security protocols (e.g., WPA3, 802.1X).Familiarity with modern technologies such as SD-WAN, IoT, and cloud-based solutions, as well as tools for network monitoring and troubleshooting.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, hands-on approach to troubleshooting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.Why Join Us?This is a unique opportunity to shape the wireless networking landscape within a forward-thinking analytics firm.
