IAT 2Overview:The BITI Wireless System Specialist provides support in the engineering and maintenance of the organization's systems infrastructure, including supporting the design and implementation of hardware and software while monitoring the performance of deployed systems. The position assists with architectural documentation, Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) documentation and validation, STIG compliance, status reports and updates. The BITI Wireless System Specialist assists in coordinating among resources and stakeholders for the testing and validation of system upgrades and modifications for new projects and existing deployments. The position also supports configuration and change management processes; and ensures project/action plans, updates/upgrade tasks, and potential issues are briefed to appropriate stakeholders.As a dynamic systems integrator, SMS offers proven solutions in engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. Block network connectivity and remove rogue Access Points (APs) as identified by base NCCs.Block or permit access as required for interfering APs as identified by base NCCs.Maintain current configuration data within AirWave Management System.Maintain any future expansions of BITI Wireless Technologies Air Force-wide.Troubleshoot fixed wired infrastructure components as they relate to BITI Wireless technologies.Assist users in troubleshooting of wireless access issues.Work closely with Aruba network engineers in troubleshooting, fault isolation, and problem resolution.Provide support with regards to system inspections (i.e. CCRI, Scope Edge, etc.).Maintain the provisioning and network connectivity of APs.Adhere to published processes/procedures for the configuration/management of BITI Wireless devices.Respond to emergency outages and ensure proper functionality of system.Maintain documentation for configuration and asset management of fielded APs and controllers.Work with FERs to provide liaison activities between BITI Wireless PMO and field units.Configure and manage Aruba ClearPass Publisher and subscriber network.Troubleshoot connectivity issues with regards to VRF and GRE tunnels.Qualifications
Requirements:5 - 7 years of progressively responsible infrastructure support with experience in mid-to-large data center environments.Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in:- Juniper/Pulse Secure NAC a plus- Advanced networking concepts, VLAN, trunking and port channel- Demonstrated advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting abilities- Disaster Recovery - expertise in risk reduction, Hot/Warm site DR architecture, high availability, planning for disaster situations- Knowledge of data communications, local-area networking, wide-area networking, routers, and switches- Network (Layer 2, 3) LAN/WAN knowledge and switches/routers- Thorough understanding of Internet Protocol (IP) routing, switching, and the OSI model.- Ability to coordinate activities across multiple agencies while prioritizing critical/high-priority taskings.- Possess refined critical thinking skills, should be a self-starter, and multi-task capable.- Approach work as diplomatic, adaptive to a dynamic environment, dependable and reliable.Education:Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline, or MIS related field is preferred but not mandatory.Required Certifications:IAT II Certified - CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent prior to startAruba Certified ClearPass Professional (ACCP) certification achieved within 90 days from start at SMSClearance:Active DoD Secret clearance required with ability to upgrade to Top Secret clearanceSMS is a veteran-owned network integrator...
