The Interventional Radiology (IR) APP is a consultant. Patient care services are provided in the hospital setting in IR as well as in the outpatient setting for follow-up clinics.Daytime into evening hours – 4x 10 hour shiftsM-F with some weekend coverage for call and possible minor proceduresCall is shared with other providers, encompassing both weeknights and weekendsLocation:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works within the multidisciplinary clinical team to provide individualized patient care through history and physical assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, medication ordering, prescribing and management, formulating diagnoses and patient/family education. They promote evidence-based practice by conducting or participating in research and academic activities. They provide support to colleagues and staff to promote the professional development of the advanced practice profession at Lurie Children’s and in the community-at-large. The role is unique to each division and in accordance with individual credentialing and privileging through the Medical Staff Office.Essential Job Functions:
Provides expert clinical care, education, consultation, advocacy research, leadership, and mentorship.Manages primary, acute, and chronic health problems through comprehensive history and physical examination assessment and diagnosis.Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures.Orders and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and performs other therapeutic or corrective measures to treat illness and improve health status.Promotes the advancement of the profession at Lurie Children’s and the community-at-large.Collaborates and coordinates care with the medical team to deliver evidence-based care and establish best practices in clinical care.Participates in research design, implementation, and interpretation.Meets the Medical Staff's Allied Health Practitioners core measures of performance related to patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal communication skills, professionalism, and system-based practice.Performs job functions adhering to service principles with a customer service focus of innovation, service excellence, and teamwork.Role may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school appropriate for certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.Two (2) years of relevant clinical experience is preferred.Licensure in the State of Illinois as an APRN/PA is required.Basic Life Support certification required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification and/or other specialty certification is required in some areas within 6 months of employment.Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.Education:
