We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Construction Security Technician at a federal agency in Washington, DC. In this critical role, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the security of sensitive construction projects. You will work closely with the Government Site Security Manager (SSM) to oversee construction activities, ensuring that all security protocols and procedures are strictly followed. If you are detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and are committed to upholding the highest security standards, we encourage you to apply for this essential role.The Construction Security Technician will be responsible for monitoring construction activities on sensitive security projects and locations to ensure compliance with all security policies and regulations.Major Duties:Provide comprehensive construction security program management, including administrative tasks, construction surveillance management, and active construction surveillance.Collaborate closely with the assigned Government Site Security Manager (SSM) to ensure all established security policies and procedures are rigorously followed.Continuously monitor the activities of all personnel on the Secured Site under government staff direction.Implement basic physical security measures in line with established security policies, including those pertaining to Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and Intelligence Community Standard (ICS) 705-1.Perform access control functions to prevent unauthorized persons, materials, and equipment from entering the site.Conduct detailed inspections of construction materials, tools, and equipment before and after use/installation to ensure they are free of tampering, documenting all findings, and identifying any anomalies.Maintain accurate documentation of the construction activities of all personnel on the Secured Site.Report all security incidents on the Secured Site to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) in a timely manner.Adhere to all safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (e.g., reflective vest, hard hat, safety glasses).Perform other physical security services as required.Professional Qualifications/Skills:Must possess a current Top Secret personnel security clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout the contract duration.Minimum of five (5) years, preferably seven (7) years, of construction experience, with at least three (3) years directly related to Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities construction or physical security.Demonstrated knowledge and application of physical security policies and procedures, particularly those aligned with Intelligence Community security guidelines.Extensive experience within the construction trades, including but not limited to electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc.Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and perform a wide range of physical activities, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting.Must be capable of working in various environmental conditions, including extreme heat or cold, for long periods.This job description outlines the core responsibilities and qualifications necessary for the Construction Security Technician role, focusing on maintaining the security integrity of sensitive construction projects.Work Schedule:
