Our products include autonomous underwater gliders, vehicles and floats, remotely operated vehicles both subsea and surface, acoustic communication and positioning systems, and acoustic releases. This position will involve engineering support for new product development, customizing equipment for new applications, and existing product development.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:Software Development, including embedded processors and applicationsHas some customer contactWork independently on assigned coding tasks, participate in code reviews and group project discussions.Assist with system architecture, requirements, diagrams and documentationAssist with test plans and execute design verification testingDue to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a "US Person" (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees)Ability to obtain Clearance if neededEducation and Experience
:Bachelor’s degree in Software, Computer or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science2-4 years related engineering experienceExperience with sensor interfaces and data acquisition systemsExperience with real time embedded operating systemsExperience with Communications Protocols (TCP/IP), Serial, USB, etc.Demonstrated excellence in analytical and problem-solving skillsJob Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
:Proficient with development tools, IDE, Static analysis tools, software configuration and version management systemsExcellent organization and communication (written and verbal) skillsC, C++ and/or C#, PythonPreferred:Knowledge of oceanographic instruments and vehiclesKnowledge of robotics and autonomyAbility to read and understand schematics of basic electronicsAbility to use test equipment such as oscilloscope, DVM, etc.Supervisory Responsibilities
