If so, read below and apply today!The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is now accepting applications for a Design Expert Transportation Engineer 3 (Engineering) opportunity within the AEC Applications section in the Division of Facilities & Transit at our Headquarters in Newington.THE ROLEIn this role, you will provide design/engineering support to engineers to develop complex and complete 2D and 3D models for highway and/or bridge projects during the design and construction phases. These models will be used for engineering, construction, and asset management purposes to support the continued implementation/transition of BIM throughout the agency. You will also keep up to date on evolving road and bridge technologies, including digital delivery, data management, and generative design. Collaboration with BIM leaders from groups like The Highway Engineering Exchange Program (HEEP) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will be part of your responsibilities.As a Design Expert, you will manage CAD Applications, using Bentley OpenRoads Designer and OpenBridge Designer. You will help in-house employees, develop training guides, and provide necessary training.It is the CTDOT's mission to provide a safe and efficient intermodal transportation network that improves the quality of life and promotes economic vitality for the State and the region.
