Job SummaryThis position serves as Director and strategic leader for the Department of Facility Services. This position has responsibility for the development and management of an approximately $13 million operational budget and a staff of approximately 170 FTE. Facility Services is responsible for all aspects of the physical facilities and grounds on campus, including upkeep of the physical environment, heating and chilling operations, maintenance and improvement of the campus building infrastructure, mail services, remodeling and renovation of facilities, including capital budget development and oversight of state construction projects. Off-hour and weekend response may be necessary for emergency issues.
This position is not eligible for hybrid work and requires 100% onsite work.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in architecture, engineering, business, construction management, facilities management or related field or completion of training/apprenticeship in a skilled trade, construction, or facilities maintenance.
Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in facility operations, maintenance, and/or replacement.
Minimum of four years of supervisory experience.
Evidence of strategic planning and/or process improvement implementation.
Evidence department budget management.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in architecture, engineering, business, construction management or related field.
Experience in facility operations, maintenance and/or management in an urban university setting.
Demonstrated skills in effective management, conflict resolution and/or team building.
Communication experience in a multifaceted large institution.
State of Wisconsin Division of Facilities Development (DFD), Capital Project development and oversight experience.
Target Salary Range$150,000 - $170,000 per year (Final salary will be based on candidate's knowledge, skills and experience)
