Quaestor Advisors, LLC ("Quaestor") is an affiliated Special Servicer, which provides mid and back-office services, including asset management, to Arena Investors and external clients.
Quaestor is looking to expand the Asset Management team through the addition of a real estate Vice President. In this role, this individual will support the senior members of the Asset Management Real Estate Team and will report to the Head of the Real Estate Team. The Asset Management Group's primary responsibilities include asset valuation, portfolio surveillance, and maximization of return for the firm's investment portfolio. Ideal candidates will be organized, self-motivated, resourceful, and be able to work effectively with all internal groups.
Responsibilities:
Have primary responsibility for a portfolio of 15-20 real estate assets or loans secured CRE in default.Responsible for monthly valuation of all assigned investments.Be prepared to evaluate, develop and implement alternative business plans for "value-add" opportunities including construction, tenant improvements and enhancements to optimize sale and return of capital.Extensive interface with Finance and Operations teams.Generate detailed financial models, including those for projections, covenant sensitivity analysis, duration and IRR calculations, amongst others.Assist in the generation of marketing and credit/performance reports and presentations.Continuously monitor assigned product sectors and portfolio companies.Work with legal, financial, valuation and accounting advisors on account management, diligence and documentation.Help to structure transactions and assist with closing deals/amendments, etc.Requirements:
The individual will have demonstrated an ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment with an ability to think broadly about the business, incorporating continual improvement of processes and procedures with a goal of excellence while focusing on accuracy and efficiency.12-15 years related experience, ideally in the area of illiquid and alternative credit including commercial and industrial loans.MBA/CFA/Real estate degree a plus.Ability to underwrite and value real estate loans and collateral.Strong fundamental credit skills necessary, likely developed in a commercial bank, credit company, or BDC.Exposure to/experience in construction including prior work with architects, engineers and general contractors to manage complex development projects.Experience with managing loans secured by CRE including transitional assets with interrupted development and renovation characteristics.Strong quantitative and qualitative skills.Strong modeling skills and the ability to think flexibly, while analyzing a variety of situations; comfortable and effective multi-tasker.Experience in a formal bank credit training or top sell side bank analyst program a plus.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to work well with others.Benefits:Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision).Retirement Plan (401k, IRA).Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D).Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays).Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity).Short Term & Long Term Disability.Training & Development.Hybrid Schedule.Free Food & Snacks.Wellness Resources.
