Director, Strategic & Government Contracting
is a key leadership role within the GSK US Market Access Operations & Analytics group function. Reporting to the head of US Market Access Contract Authoring & Analytics, the position is responsible for the daily operations of Federal, State and Regional Payer contracting. Location: Philadelphia OR Durham, NC. This role is not eligible for relocation support. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following: Lead, manage and develop a team of contracting and analytics professionals based in Durham, NC and Philadelphia, PA. Collaborate across Market Access and Finance on the delivery of Gross-to-Net financial forecasts on a bi-annual cycle regarding the team's scope of contracting inputs. Provide insight to support continuous improvement of processes and analytical tools. Liaise with Government Pricing, Finance and Market Access Strategy teams to provide insights on strategic issues. Partner with internal stakeholders, including Vaccines Trade Strategy, Market Access Strategy, Contract Operations, Strategic Accounts and Legal, to develop contracting approaches for new and existing business strategies. Prioritize team deliverables while balancing strategic, operational and legal contract language guidance. Develop GSK purchaser contract templates based on approved product/customer segment contracting strategies. Evaluate current contracts to determine necessary revisions resulting from changes in public policy, strategy, guidance or to include revisions due to new products and/or divestitures. Ensure terms and conditions are compliant with applicable laws and regulations as well as accurately reflect GSK intent and strategy. Resolve disputes with customers over specific terms and conditions. Quantify potential financial impact of disputes and escalate for Senior Management review as appropriate. Partner with internal and external compliance/audit stakeholders. Respond to internal requests regarding contractual issues and lead special projects as needed. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Bachelor's Degree. 7+ years of pharmaceutical manufacturer experience with purchase-based contracting, Finance and/or payer market access. Experience in contracting language that supports growth and balances risk. Experience with advanced modeling and forecasting tools. Experience with PowerBI. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: MBA or advanced degree. Experience and understanding of US Market Access business dynamics and customers (Payers, Purchasers, Providers, Retail, etc.) and US Market Access data analytics. US-based experience with market access strategies, account management interface, government/mandated contracting, reimbursement and distribution concepts. Supervising, coaching, and evaluating teams in a leadership capacity. Problem solving, systems modernization and/or change management experience. Ability to employ highly effective decision-making strategies in resolving issues and conflicting options/priorities. Invites and encourages diverse ideas, styles, and perspectives. Invests in relationships in their team and across other teams. Considers and implements opportunities within daily work to partner with stakeholders to improve outcomes and bring efficiencies and information sharing across accounts. Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication with a validated track record of building relationships both internal and external to the company.
