Position Overview

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing functional areas of HR, including Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Compensation and Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and Training and Development. This role ensures that HR operations are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. The Director, Human Resources will manage day-to-day HR processes and lead cross-functional initiatives to support organizational growth and employee satisfaction.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

HR Functional Leadership:

Lead HR operations across core functional areas: HRIS, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and Training & Development.

Ensure HR programs are in alignment with company objectives and contribute to a high-performing, inclusive culture.

Partner with the VP of HR and senior leadership to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that drive business results.

HRIS & Data Management:

Oversee the management and optimization of the HRIS platform to ensure accurate and efficient HR data processing.

Ensure HR technology solutions are effectively leveraged to streamline HR processes, reporting, and analytics.

Monitor HR metrics and analytics, using data to inform decision-making and improve operational efficiency.

Compensation & Benefits:

Lead the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain talent.

Ensure compensation and benefits programs are market competitive, legally compliant, and support the company’s financial objectives.

Collaborate with finance and other departments to conduct annual compensation reviews and manage the benefits renewal process.

Talent Acquisition:

Oversee the talent acquisition team and support the sourcing, recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes.

Partner with department heads to understand hiring needs and develop strategies to attract top talent with the Talent Acquisition team.

Learning & Development:

Oversee the Learning and Development team and support the design and delivery of employee training and development programs to enhance skills, knowledge, and leadership capabilities.

Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth by managing both internal and external training resources with the Learning and Development team.

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure HR operations comply with local, state, and federal employment laws, as well as internal policies.

Collaborate on initiatives to update HR policies, procedures, and handbooks, ensuring they reflect current best practices and legal requirements.

Collaboration & Leadership:

Lead and mentor a high-performing HR team, providing coaching, feedback, and opportunities for professional development.

Act as a key HR partner to department heads, ensuring effective collaboration between HR and other business units.

Foster a positive employee experience through effective HR service delivery and organizational culture initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is highly desirable.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.

Proven experience with HR technology platforms and data driven decision making.
