Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant with expertise in business accounting functions, contract management, and general business operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, executing monthly AR/AP tasks, and managing contracts. This role requires a good understanding of accounting practices, proficiency in accounting and or ERP software, and experience in customer renewal contract management. An adaptive, continuous improvement, and solution-focused mindset will be critical in achieving success in this role.Job Description:General Accounting and FinanceOwn the AR and AP processes within Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) environment, including invoice/vendor posting, payments and GL reconciliation.Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts as required, including related working papers.Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.Support internal and external audits.Prepare financial reports and analyses as required.Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, company accounting policies, and internal controls.Contract Management & BillingReview, analyze, and manage company contracts and agreements.Ensure all contracts are accurately recorded and maintained.Monitor contract compliance and performance, addressing any discrepancies or issues.Coordinate with legal, management, and other departments to review and manage contract terms and conditions.Business OperationsSupport business operations functions across multiple departments.Effectively liaise and communicate with different stakeholders to help achieve corporate performance metrics and goals.Leverage new technologies and ideas to continuously improve process flows.QualificationsA college degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience and certifications.Minimum of 3 years of AR and AP experience, with a focus on general accounting and contract management.Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) AR and AP modules a plus, including general ledger reconciliations.Good understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel intermediary functions.Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Key CompetenciesTechnical Proficiency: Expertise in Great Plains software or similar accounting/ERP software, and general accounting practices.Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and contracts, providing insights and recommendations.Attention to Detail: High-level of accuracy and thoroughness in task execution and financial record-keeping.Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proven experience in process documentation.Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. A proven self-starter.Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions. Possesses a high degree of curiosity, intolerance for ambiguity, and a relentless drive for continuous improvement.Character: Highly accountable, ethical, and adaptive.
