DRS Naval Electronics is seeking a Digital System Designer with an emphasis on FPGA design, simulation and verification. Responsible for electrical engineering activities including creating circuit design, developing test procedures, analyzing reports, creating process documentation, and conducting testing of products, subsystems, and systems. Working closely with other engineers as part of an engineering team.

Candidates local to Largo, FL are preferred.Primary & Essential Accountabilities

Use FPGA Tool Chains for development and simulation of VHDL HDL designsProduce documentation including: hardware design description, block diagrams, and test plansOccasional on-site support testing of products, subsystems, and systems in Largo, FLReview designs from other engineers and provide critical feedbackWork collaboratively with other engineering team membersProvide regular reporting of progress and statusResponsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirementsCommunicate clearly (written and oral)Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationAdditional desired skills

Experience with Intel/Altera toolsetExperience migrating legacy designsArchitectural decision making between HDL and HLSDDS experienceRFSOC experienceElectronics design (schematic entry/board layout/library work)Electronics integration and testExperience with radar, guidance systems or other RF technologyExperience operating in Scrum, Agile or Kan-ban management systemsQualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience and a

minimum of 2 years of experienceCompetent technical expertise and application domain knowledgeAbility to work independentlyNovice technical expertise and application domain knowledgeSpecialties may include:Electrical:

Involved with the design, development, modification, and analysis of various electronics systems. May include Hardware, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Components, or others. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed. Compile and evaluate design and test data.
