Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Senior Electrical Engineer for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This position will beresponsiblefor working with and/or leading a group of engineers on a technical activity and completion of activity on time and budget. They willdesign, develop,analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, and/or subsystems. This position will also use computer-aided engineering [CAD]schematiccapture and/or otherdesign/analysis software in the performance of assignments. The ideal candidates will have experience with military hardware and cabling and/or experience with circuit card assembly design.Job Responsibilities
Involved with the design, development, modification and analysis of various electronics systems. May include Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Components or others. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed. Compile and evaluate design and test data. Analyze, develop and recommend design approaches.Responsible for leading group of engineers on a technical activity and completion of activity on time and budgetDesign, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystemsMay use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments. Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variableProvide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignmentsSpecify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and servicesDrive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirementsDevelop prototypes to retire key development risksCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as requiredParticipate in preparation of proposalsProvide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnelLead and direct the work of others as assignedSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationAttend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetingsLead less-experienced engineersQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of electrical design experienceKnowledge on and experience with Circuit Card CAD applications (experience with ALTIUM a plus)Knowledge on and experience with engineering drawing and CAD applicationsKnowledge on and experience with circuit simulation applicationsExperience interfacing hardware components into a complete spec compliant systemExperience designing and maintaining system Interface Control Documents (ICD)Must have electrical systems design experience and strong mechanical aptitudeMust be able to determine the hardware compatibility of a systemExperience with military hardware and cablingand/or experience with circuit card assembly design a plusU.S. Citizenship required.
