SFI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting or finance, with extensive experience in financial analysis, accounts payable, cost analysis, and project financial analysis. This position requires a deep understanding of GAAP, governmental accounting, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Experience in federal contracting and familiarity with the regulatory requirements of federal finance management will be considered a significant asset.
Work Schedule: This position requires three days of onsite work at our Bethesda office, with the option for remote work during the remainder of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support decision-making processes.Manage accounts payable and cost analysis tasks, including invoice review, labor hours verification, expense report audits, and financial reconciliation.Prepare monthly program financials, update forecasts, and accurately reconcile billed invoices versus contracts.Perform month-end AP & AR reconciliation and provide support for the year-end financial audit.Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate financial records and reports.Ensure compliance with GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and CAS.Communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally, with internal teams and external partners.Take on additional tasks or projects as assigned by the VP of Finance.Federal Contracting: Understand and navigate federal contracting processes, including compliance with federal financial management regulations and standards. Manage and report on federal contracts, ensuring alignment with federal requirements and guidelines.
Requirements:
