What You'll Do

We’re looking for a Senior Associate to join our Fund Administration, Tax & Oversight team. In this role, you'll be responsible for oversight/preparation financial reporting activities prepared by third-party service provider including semi-annual/annual financial statements preparation, tailored shareholder reports, reporting related to regulatory requirements, survey company reporting requirements. In addition, incumbent will be responsible for calculating/reviewing SEC Yields for assigned group of funds on a monthly basis and performing oversight of reporting-related activities associated with specialty items. Incumbent will be responsible for the review of financial data, as well as ensuring all activities performed are completed in compliance with established regulatory and internal control procedures and guideline and also involved in fund actions to aid the team in achieving operational readiness.

Financial Statement Preparation and Regulatory Requirements - Prepare/review financial statements (including balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes, schedules of investments, notes to financial statements) for platforms in accordance with US GAAP and Regulation S-X, as applicable, for a group of assigned funds, on a semi-annual/annual basis. Calculate and/or review complex accounting adjustments. Perform audit checks to ensure statements are presented accurately. During annual audits, interact directly with external auditors. Provide feedback and suggestions to leadership about financial statement presentation as needed by researching regulatory requirements and reviewing disclosure of industry peers. Work with less experienced team members to maintain operational documentation as needed.

Reporting Requirements - On a monthly basis, calculate, analyze, review SEC Yields for assigned funds, prepare/review data required for various regulatory reporting requirements, provide internal/external business partners with data as-needed. Participate in implementation projects across the enterprise to ensure compliance with applicable rules and business needs. Assist in providing oversight of data and input into control environment for financial reporting.

Oversight of 3rd party service provider - Review reports provided by third-party service provider to ensure that output ties to source files. Review for accuracy/completeness and escalate exceptions to service provider. Drive conversations around processes and quality work, provide valuable feedback on Key Performance Indicators.

Data Stewardship - Ensure that datasets for specific area of focus are complete and accurate. Activities include ensuring that the financial reporting application is updated for changes within the mutual funds, researching new investment types and recommending disclosure updates to leadership. Work across the enterprise to achieve best practices related to data integration amongst teams.

Team initiatives/Informal leadership -Serve as a mentor and technical resource for less experienced teammates. Demonstrate proficiency in the areas of technical functions, resolution of issues, formulating recommendations, independent decision making and effective communication. Coordinate and review less experienced team members work with them to maintain documentation as needed.

Who You Are

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, plus 6 or more years relevant work experience

Strong preference towards candidates with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with previous experience in investment-related or fund reporting

Comprehensive knowledge of the investment markets, complex securities, and related accounting principles, industry legal and regulatory requirements, accounting pronouncements strongly required

Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills required

Must be detailed oriented and be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy

Must have proven and strong abilities in the areas of problem solving, planning, time management, decision making, mentoring and project management skills

Must have demonstrated the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, exercise flexibility when dealing with people and effectively communicate with internal and external contacts at all levels

Proficiency with Word and Excel required

Ability to learn systems and applications used within the firm required; proficiency with systems and applications strongly preferred (FIS, Confluence Unity, Bloomberg)

Success in this position requires a strong client service orientation, the ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven, team-based environment, and the ability to effectively make high impact decisions, lead projects, drive results and produce accurate and timely information independently

Must be able to handle multiple, complex tasks, prioritize effectively and be flexible as business needs change

Must take initiative, be a self-starter, able to mentor others and work independently

Must be able to effectively work with staff at various levels to communicate reporting related issues

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$86450 - $147600 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
