What You'll Do

We’re looking for a Client Portfolio Manager to join our Fixed Income team. In this role, you’ll act as a key liaison between portfolio management and Principal Fixed Income’s clients worldwide!

Advocate for and commercially advance Principal’s global fixed income platform

Act as an extension of our portfolio management teams

Deliver a best-in-class client experience

Key responsibilities include: Support client/prospect engagement efforts, develop collateral and help build Principal Fixed Income’s advocacy internally and externally, oversee investment team review of RFPs and DDQs, conduct internal trainings, and complete ad hoc requests as needed. Travel expectations: 25 – 50%.

Who You Are

5+ years of financial services-related experience with a focus on the asset management industry and fixed income markets

Undergraduate degree with an excellent academic background, preferably within a finance-related field (e.g., economics, finance, statistics, etc.)

Extensive knowledge of fixed income markets and the asset management industry

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

Additional credentials or progress towards obtaining additional credentials; preferably, a CFA or MBA

Deep knowledge across fixed income sectors, including familiarity with high yield, municipals, investment grade credit, securitized debt and multi-sector fixed income strategies/products

Excellent professional presentation and communication skills

Experience working within US/global institutional investment management and associated sales channels

Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage a high volume of work with tight deadlines

Self-starter who can work effectively on their own, while being able to efficiently navigate a large organization to obtain data and information

Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to manipulate data and build polished presentations independently

Advanced technical skills including familiarity with Bloomberg, BlackRock Solutions Aladdin Suite, eVestment, Morningstar, iMoneyNet and other related industry third-party systems

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$123000 - $167000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role offers the ability for in-office or hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek) work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors
