Our customer base is remarkably diverse; we serve Fortune 100 firms, top research labs, and innovative startups as well. Responsibilities include:
General accounting duties (journal entries, auditor requests, SOX compliance, and tax audits)Preparation of financial reconciliations and supporting schedules (monthly and quarterly)Sales graphsFacilitate & complete monthly close procedures to ensure the integrity of financial stability and performance of the company including:
Inventory month end reconciliation - PTC inventory scheduleBooking of purchases-In-transit (A/P prepares)Reviewing / closing production ordersPrepare A/R intercompany schedulePreparation of exchange rate graphs and posting in CMS
Entering of payroll entriesReview, analyze, reconcile general ledger accountsReview/reclass unearned revenueService contract revenue/service repair revenueMonitoring inventory clearing account and adjustmentsIntercompany exchange reconciliationAdjust G/L commission expense account to actual commission paid and recordBank reconciliationsRecord bank service charges:
US dollar invoice paymentsYen invoice payments (monthly)Payments to other subsidiariesAll foreign currency payments and/or payments to foreign countriesHealth plan TPA - requests for funding received weeklyBi-weekly payroll, monthly commissions - transfer net check amount to payroll accountTransfer 401K contributions - every payroll
Request balance confirmations as necessaryForex trade confirmationsReview suspect check items and ACH vendors over the debit limitMaintain master file of sales tax rates / codes for numerous statesPrepare sales tax returns for each state the company is registered and required (currently 24 states are filed)Spot check A/P invoices for sales / use tax requirementsMaintain company's fixed assets
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 5 years current hands-on experience in accounting and general ledger applicationsExperience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred)Intermediate level skills with Microsoft OfficeStrong analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to consistently meet assigned deadlinesAbility to operate independently and intradepartmentally with minimal daily direction
Preferred qualifications:
Experience dealing with all levels of management and addressing interdepartmental mattersFamiliar with payroll processing and complianceKnowledge of foreign exchange transactionsAdvanced level skills with Microsoft office
