Job Description:
Responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations which may include skilled hand work or utilizing automated production equipment. Comprehends and interprets a variety of technical specifications, terms and documents. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
Essential Functions:
works in windows-based programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Performs moderately complex assembly or rework functions that include but are not limited to attaching mechanical and electrical components, wiring harnesses, soldering connections, and intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, cleaning, curing, stamping, and color-coding parts and assemblies. May involve use of manual and semiautomatic assembly machines and tools.
Dis-assembles product to any level and effectively performs rework/repair activity to achieve acceptable function, configuration, or airworthiness condition.
Performs material control functions, including picking components off stockroom shelf into work order kits, picking material into KanBan kits, applying material control identification, inventory counting and control, inventory requisition transactions using ERP system.
Performs serialization and product ID labeling, operation of PC based serial number database program, CodeSoft label generation computer program and form feed label print machines.
Performs hand soldering of through hole and surface mount components and to the specification standards of pass IPC A610 and JSTD 001 standard, and able to retain continual certifications to perform such activities.
Perform dimensional and visual acceptance inspection of all assigned products, including mechanical, electronic, subassembly and final assembly levels to IPC A610 and L3Harris’ ISO SOP and WI standards documents, and able to retain continual certification to perform such activities.
Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics for moderately complex components.
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Industry standard solder skills are preferred but not necessary upon hire. Successful candidate will receive internal training if necessary and will be required to pass IPC A610 and JSTD 001 solder and rework certification tests. Current certification to IPC A610 and JSTD 001 is preferred.
General knowledge of Lean or demand flow manufacturing practices would be helpful.
Ability to read work orders, follows production drawings, process instruction sheets, and sample assemblies or receives verbal instructions regarding assembly.
Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings as well as manufacturing work instruction s.
