The District Nurse works under the direction and supervision of the assistant superintendent. The District Nurse will be responsible for ensuring compliance of all student health records, developing and implementing policies and procedures for clinic aides to follow, and scheduling and supervising all clinic aides. Other duties may be required as requested by supervisor.
RN with BSN Degree RequiredCertified in CPR (ability to teach CPR certification courses beneficial)Expanded Criminal Background Check RequiredSupervisory Skills NeededAttention to DetailMaintains Confidentiality at all timesAbility to Complete State Reports in a Timely FashionKnowledge of Chirp and Skyward beneficialDevelops policies, procedures, and work standards for school health.Monitors compliance of school health program with federal, state, and local laws, regulations and policies.Initiates program changes as needed.Prepares health reports for supervisor.Collaborates with other child-support agencies in designing and providing a school health program.Negotiates professional and medical services essential to the school health program.Provides first aid care and medically prescribed services.Maintains security of school health supplies.Serves as resource person on health issues.Provides staff development on health-related topics for school staff and volunteers.Screens and conducts necessary screenings in accordance with state laws.Provides follow-up evaluations on students as required.Corresponds with parents on health needs of student.Record immunizations, health findings, and other relevant health data.Teaches district CPR classes monthly or as neededSupervises school nurses/clinic aides
