We have an exciting opportunity opening for a Senior Contracts Manager position at the MCCCD District Office! This role will be highly collaborative with General Counsel and Enterprise Risk Management. If you have experience with negotiating contracts, reviewing across departments and sites, and working with Contracts Lifecycle Management systems, we encourage you to apply today!

Essential Functions

30% Reviews, negotiates, drafts, and edits contract terms and conditions; Assesses whether a contract requires review(s) by the Associate General Counsel, the District Director of Enterprise Risk Management, or the District Information Security Officer.

25% Prepares full documentation of issues for matters that are escalated for higher-level review.

25% Maintains information regarding contracts in the District's Contracts Lifecycle Management (CLM) system and serves as point of contact on contractual matters ensuring timely review and approval.

10% Creates educational tools and conducts district-wide training on Governing Board policies, District administrative regulations, use of the CLM system, and fiscal and other procedures as they relate to contract approval and signature. Prepares reports, correspondence, and documents as needed to document deviations from or changes to District contracting standards.

10% Conducts mandatory reviews and assesses contract terms and conditions for compliance with applicable law; Updates library of contract templates on a periodic basis. Plans, organizes, and assigns the work of staff if serving as lead worker; plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of staff under his or her supervision. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Business Administration, Contract Administration, Procurement / Supply Chain Management and five (5) years of professional level experience reviewing contracts and identifying contract and contract-risk issues for a large entity with a high volume of contracts that includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Desired Qualifications

A. Five (5) or more years' experience drafting, negotiating and managing contracts for a public educational institution or other public entity using contract management software or a similar enterprise or matter management system.

B. Five (5) or more years' experience drafting, negotiating and managing contracts for a large publicly-traded company using contract management software or a similar enterprise or matter management system.

C. Three (3) or more years' experience implementing and managing contract and approval workflows.

D. Two (2) or more years' experience conducting and reporting on audits of compliance to contract management processes, policies and/or regulations.

E. Two (2) or more years' experience in reviewing and negotiating provisions governing insurance requirements, indemnification and limitations of liability.

Special Working Conditions

May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor.

May be required to work at multiple sites or locations.
