College Finance Officer .

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This position will provide budgetary support to the College of Education and Human Development at Georgia State University.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

General Accounting & Budgeting:

Assist CAO in preparation of annual budget.

Prepare and submit budget amendments for the College.

Prepare any necessary annual College or University budget reports.

Monitor budget lines of the CEHD general budgets, ensuring major categories are in line with allocation using various budget reports and analyses with emphasis on mid-year and final budget amendments.

Create any necessary budget journal entries for Dean's Office accounts and assist departments with the same.

Monthly expenditure review for all Dean's Office budgets and provide automated reports to departments.

Work with Budget & Planning to establish any necessary new budgets for cost shares, DS&S, indirects, etc.

Analysis:

Prepare budget analysis as necessary for CAO and Dean.

Reconcile general, sponsored, indirects, DS&S, etc. funds for Dean's Office and other areas within the College.

Track personnel expenses and process prior period adjustments as necessary.

Calculate and track college-wide surplus from position vacancies throughout the fiscal year.

Provide training and guidance to budgetary personnel in various departments, centers, and projects within the CEHD. This includes instructing others in running and interpreting reports, expenditure review processes, budget amendments, and understanding how these fit into the overall budget of the College.

Troubleshooting & problem resolution:

Resolve or work with the GSU offices that can resolve identified issues related to all fund sources.

Act as liaison between CEHD and various GSU offices such as Budget & Planning, Disbursements, Purchasing, Research, Foundation, etc.

Process prior period adjustments when necessary.

Monitor over/under payments for Dean's Office accounts.

Qualifications

:

Bachelor's degree and three years of budgetary experience; or a combination of education and related experience.College/Business Unit
