Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC, North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group, is excited to announce an exciting opportunity to join the MHC Accounting & Finance team as a Cost Accountant. The Cost Accountant is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the MHC RoadForce Manufacturing division. This job includes maintaining the standard cost inventory tables within the MHC manufacturing system, ensuring accurate cost allocation, and providing insight to improve cost efficiency. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about launching a career with an outstanding company.Record journal entries for monthly closing of company ledgers and support month-end and year-end close processes.Maintain the inventory standard cost tables within the MHC manufacturing system.Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs including raw materials, labor, overhead expenses, and absorption.Record and maintain accurate financial transactions including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Prepare and analyze cost reports, variance analyses, and forecasts for management review.Participate in inventory management activities including valuation, inventory counts, and reconciliation of inventory transactions.Assist in future ERP implementation.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related discipline is required.Two years of cost accounting work experience preferred.Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles and practices.Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.Requires excellent communication, organizational, customer service, analytical, interpersonal, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.Strong customer service orientation with the ability to understand and react to diverse needs.Some travel may be requiredBenefits
