Prologis is seeking a Director, ESG Regulatory Reporting to play a key role in advancing the company's ESG disclosure strategy. This role involves monitoring emerging global ESG disclosure regulations and standards, implementing and strengthening ESG data collection and automation and designing and leading ESG regulatory reporting processes. We are looking for an experienced leader with deep knowledge of ESG regulations and reporting frameworks, supported by strong accounting expertise, to join our team and help us further advance our industry leadership. This position will be a director-level role and will report to the VP, Global ESG with a matrixed reporting line to the VP, SEC Reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
Regulated ESG Reporting. Lead, manage and develop a full understanding of the reporting requirements for certain regulated ESG disclosures, including the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and California climate disclosure regulations. Support the SEC Reporting team with SEC-regulated ESG disclosures and review, as required.
ESG Data Collection and Automation. Evaluate current data and information available for CSRD and California regulations, assess gaps, and collaborate with Prologis teams who are leading our global ESG data processes, systems and automation strategies to ensure the new requirements are covered through our global data strategy.
Support of Internal Controls and Audit Readiness. Work with SEC Reporting to develop and implement new internal controls for new and existing ESG data, metrics and reporting processes, in collaboration with additional key internal stakeholders including Internal Audit, ESG, IT, Operational Excellence, and Legal teams. Partner with internal accounting team on audit-readiness of ESG data, confirming documentation required for key metrics, assessing completeness and accuracy, and outlining decision-making processes and governance oversight.
Report Assurance and Materiality Assessments. Partner with internal accounting team assurance engagements of ESG disclosures for new global ESG regulations and voluntary reporting. Manage key aspects of the double materiality process required for CSRD compliance.
Voluntary ESG and SEC Reporting Support. Contribute regulation expertise to our ESG team members who lead our voluntary ESG disclosures and annual GHG Invent ry process. Review data and documentation and identify process improvement opportunities and ensure alignment and consistency in data across global ESG reporting, including corporate, SEC-filed and voluntary reports.Regulation Trends Monitoring. Monitor and maintain a deep understanding of the evolving ESG reporting and disclosure landscape, including frameworks, standards, and regulations. Create an internal tracker/dashboard to ensure alignment across internal teams (e.g., Government Affairs, ESG, Global Accounting, and Local real estate teams).Action Plans. Develop governance framework and action plans to close gaps and meet new compliance requirements, including analysis of ROI of options and process requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ESG data management and reporting processes
Building blocks for success
Required:
7+ years' experience in ESG reporting and standards and regulation as well as accounting and financial reporting, internal controls, risk management, data management, or related fields for large public companies, with prior leadership roles.Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting / Finance (or other relevant field of study) required.Strong command of ESG reporting standards, frameworks and regulations such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, IFRS/ISSB, CSRD, EU Taxonomy.Experience leading strategic projects and teams in complex, multinational environments with exposure to different reporting requirements.Critical thinker with strong financial analysis and numerical data skills.Ability to work across cross-functional groups, navigate ambiguity,
