Preferred Qualifications Position Summary This is manual work at the journeyman level in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and heating systems. Work involves performance of skilled plumbing tasks in maintaining, repairing, and servicing a variety of fixtures and equipment. Routine maintenance, service, and repair work is performed independently. Assignments are normally received orally or through written work orders. Work is inspected on completion for conformity to instructions and quality of work. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Read and interpret building plans, sketches, building schematics, and blueprints. Experience and knowledge of the general plumbing trade to include repair, installation and maintenance of plumbing & heating systems. Read and understand oral and written instructions. Physical Demands Bend, stoop, stand, squat, work with hands above head, work from a standard and/or extended ladder and lift up to 75 lbs. throughout the day. Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Repairs and inserts valves and ball cocks, packs faucets, repairs waste, sewage, and drainage pipes, replaces broken fixtures and installs new fixtures, caulks and packs joints.
