About the Opportunity
The Housing Director will oversee the Housing Services Coordinator and lead initiatives to support families in transitioning from shelter to permanent housing. This role requires a commitment to evidence-based practices and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful housing placements for families in accordance with organizational and contractual requirements.
Key Accountabilities
Leadership and OversightSupervise the Housing Services Coordinator.Provide guidance and support in all housing services activities.Manage, organize and lead housing fairs, workshops, and group meetings for families to address their housing needs and provide necessary resources.Work closely with Case Managers to develop housing strategies, advocate for families, and track referrals and follow-ups effectively.Maintain updated case notes and ensure all mandated reporting is completed accurately and timely.Client Support
Implement evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) to help clients achieve their housing goals.Maintain a deep understanding of housing subsidies, supportive housing programs, and the New York City housing market.Provide families with comprehensive guidance throughout the application process.Networking and Relationships
Cultivate and maintain relationships with real estate brokers and landlords, ensuring families have access to housing resources.Act as a liaison to expedite housing placements that meet organizational standards.Essential Functions
Must be able to utilize a computer for most of the workday.Must use public transportation to travel to Win sites and other related meetings and events.Must be present in the office at least two days per week or as required.Qualifications:
Commitment to Win's mission, vision, and values.Bachelor's degree and or 4+ years of relevant experience.Minimum of 2 years of experience in housing services or related fields, with extensive knowledge ofExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams.Experience or interest in grant writing and foundation relations preferred.Experience with grant portals is preferred.Basic knowledge of Salesforce or another CRM database is a plus.Core Competencies:
