ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing economic and health equity for youth ages 11–24. We do this work through a comprehensive approach that includes housing, mental health, medical, youth justice, education & employment, and community services. We take a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to our work and center the needs of young people impacted by racism and other forms of oppression and marginalization. Founded in 1972, Face to Face serves more than 3,000 youth annually.JOB SUMMARY:The Housing Stability Manager provides overall leadership and direction to Face to Face’s Housing Program which includes SafeZone Day Shelter and our scattered-site Transitional Housing Program. The Housing Stability Manager is responsible for ensuring accomplishment of Housing Program goals in a way that aligns with our vision, mission, values, and the evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness. Major areas of focus include team development, day-to-day program management; budget management, grant management, and direct work with youth experiencing housing instability.RESPONSIBILITIES:Team DevelopmentProvide direct supervision to the SafeZone Supervisor, Case Management Supervisor, HMIS Data Specialist, Coordinated Entry & Intake Specialist, and other staff as needed;Attract, empower, train and retain a diverse staff able to provide culturally responsive programs;Create and maintain a strong, positive, youth-centric culture that reflects the evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness;Provide Housing Program team with trainings and coaching they need to successfully deliver programming;Support supervisors in addressing staff performance challenges;Model behavior that is consistent with, and supportive of the mission and values of the organization;Program ManagementOversee day-to-day delivery of programming at SafeZone Day Shelter including meeting youth basic needs, supporting youth in accessing shelters and housing, case management services, on-site peer support and arts programming, coordinating with external partners offering services on-site, and partnering with medical and mental health programs to provide support to youth;Oversee transitional housing program ensuring excellent case management support, rental assistance in line with youth needs and funder requirements, and wraparound care for youth;Ensure all services are provided in light of the evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness;Develop and implement safety and security protocols, intervening with escalated youth as needed, and debriefing critical incidents;Partner with managers from other program areas to coordinate services across programs and locations;Ensure high-quality programs to meet youth needs, striving toward consistent quality improvement;Work with staff and Director of Programs to develop additional programming in response to youth needs;Stay up-to-date on community developments in youth work and housing and serve as organizational expert on community resources for youth;Ensure the Housing Program has clear process and procedures for all services and activities.Budget & Grant ManagementManage overall Housing Program budget;Monitor and manage all individual budgets for the public and private grants, ensuring spending is on time and meets funder requirements;Monitor and manage all Housing Program public and private grants and ensure that all work plan requirements are met and are accurately reported in a timely manner;Draft reports to funders, ensuring they are done accurately, completely, and on-time;Collaborate with Finance and Director of Programs to develop annual budgets;Develop strategies and partnerships to manage unlimited youth need in light of limited resources;Keep development team up-to-date on funding gaps and in-kind donation needs;Represent the organization and youth in the Housing Program by attending funder and local government meetings and committees;Client ServiceBuild positive relationships with youth accessing SafeZone;Investigate and resolve youth grievances;Listen to youth voice and incorporate their input into programming;Model de-escalation techniques and responses to youth that align with the evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness;Serve as member of organization’s Leadership Team; and,OtherRepresent the organization within the youth-serving community and support advocacy and collaboration efforts;Participate in organization-wide strategic planning activities;Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field preferred;3 or more years of supervisory and management experience;Excellent leadership and supervision skills with the ability to positively motivate a team;Strong organizations skills with ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and competing priorities;High degree of problem-solving skills;Knowledge and experience working with youth experiencing housing instability or other barriers;Experience with a positive youth development and harm reduction approach;Excellent crisis management skill and the ability to navigate stressful situations well;Able to be flexible, work under stress and to respond to emergencies/crises;Experience managing budgets;Experience managing grants and grant outcomes preferred;Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds;The ability to work independently, exercising good judgment in involving others when necessary;Don’t meet every single requirement?
