Job Duties
Northern Virginia Mental Health is seeking a dedicated and visionary Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to join our Executive Leadership Team. The CCO will operate under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, leading the Psychology and Forensic Services Department, Social Work Department, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Department. This role requires a strategic leader who can collaborate across disciplines to advance the organization's objectives, make data-driven decisions, and foster a culture of innovation within the clinical space.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Supervision: Provide oversight and leadership to clinical teams, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with industry standards according to The Joint Commission, CMS, and the Office of the Inspector General.
Collaboration: Work closely with leaders across disciplines to drive the strategic plan forward, leveraging data to inform clinical decisions and promote innovation.
Clinical Expertise: Apply strong knowledge in psychiatric treatment, individualized patient treatment plans, mental health counseling and therapy, behavior modification, and quality patient outcomes.
Staffing & Budget Management: Manage budgets, oversee staffing, and address challenges related to staff retention and recruitment in a healthcare setting. Hold team members accountable and investigate employee relations issues as needed.
Professional Development: Support and encourage continuous learning and professional growth among team members. Lead by example with a demonstrated history of pursuing leadership development beyond formal education.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Demonstrated experience supervising licensed clinical staff in a mental health setting.
Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and developing clinical teams, managing budgets, and solving complex operational challenges.
Collaborative Approach: A commitment to fostering teamwork and optimism to build up team members consistently, despite challenges or differences of opinion.
Cultural Competence: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a diverse and inclusive environment. Northern Virginia Mental Health represents over 53 countries within its workforce and values creating a sense of belonging for all.
Additional Considerations
The ideal and preferred candidate will be a seasoned leader with three or more years of supervisory experience and/or one year of executive leadership experience.
