Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Events & Conferencing/General Manager for the Arena, the Assistant Manager, Arena Events and Operations advances event logistics and planning held in the Arena. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, venue rental sales, event planning and management, event coverage and oversight, venue event scheduling, and managing the daily activities required to run and maintain the venue. This is accomplished by providing excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience for all clients, patrons, and artists. This position works within a team environment but will also work independently, often while delivering on tight deadlines. The typical work schedule includes day hours as well as many nights, weekends, and some holidays/college breaks. The Assistant Manager, Arena Events and Operations is required to have a reasonable understanding of event and production timelines, logistics, and best industry practices. Given the flexible nature of the Arena, this position will be responsible for other duties as assigned by the Director/General Manager.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree

Required Experience

A minimum of three years of professional experience is required in event planning and management, overseeing large-scale events, working with rental clients, coordinating with artist representatives for touring shows, venue and event scheduling, and creating event diagrams or floorplans.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesExcellent customer service skills.Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners.Exceptional organizational skills.Strong time management abilities.Experience in hiring, training, and supervising staff.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel.Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.

General Weekly Work Schedule

In addition to regular office hours, this position works evenings and weekends based on the show and event schedule.
