Gramercy Court Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is in search of an Occupational Therapist to join our Mental/Behavior Health team. Our Special Treatment Program strives to help individuals live healthy, satisfying, and hopeful lives despite limitations and/or continuing effects caused by mental illness. The recovery, wellness, and discovery approach involves collaborating with the resident to facilitate hope and empowerment, with the goals of counteracting internal and external "stigma," improving self-esteem, encouraging resident self-management of their life and making their own choices, reintegrating the resident into their community as a contributing member, and achieving a satisfying and fulfilling life.

Our 36-bed secured special treatment unit offers skilled nursing and rehabilitation services in addition to on-site psychiatric and psychological services to help patients manage their mental illness diagnoses.

Job Description:

The primary role of the Occupational Therapist is to direct all aspects of quality patient care, including evaluation, treatment, treatment planning, goal setting, family education and documentation according to organization's guidelines, professional standards and community needs. This position will also serve as a patient and rehabilitation advocate for current prospective patients, to all internal and external customers while participating in quality assurance and customer service activities.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an approved curriculum in Occupational Therapy, is able to practice unencumbered, is in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards, has working knowledge of Medicare and other payer sources, full knowledge of residents' rights, exude professionalism in presentation, able to work on multitasks at the same time. In addition, qualified candidates must have proven success in providing extraordinary care, working as a proactive and contributing part of a dynamic team. Customer service expertise is crucial to ensure patient care is performed with kindness, competence, and compassion. NDT Certification is a plus.
